RELAXATION Yoga Nidra is translated "yogic sleep" and refers to "one awakened in all states of being". Yoga Nidra is an ancient guided meditaion that leads to inner freedom. This is achieved through a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. One may appear to be napping while practicing, however, one's consciousness is functioning at a deep level of awareness. Relaxation occurs by detaching from external awareness, turning inward, and awakening all the koshas of the body. Yoga Nidra is energizing, and very powerful. It guides us to our True Nature with clarity and confidence. Yoga Nidra can be useful in many aspects of our lives, for example, developing one's memory, increasing our capacity to retain knowledge and creativity, and to transform one's nature. Yoga Nidra is practiced in stillness, generally while lying on the floor with cushioning props. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing. FIRST CLASS GRATIS! $12 a class $40 for full session DROP IN'S WELCOME! Yoga Nidra will be guided by Liberty Bryer, a summer resident to Maine, wintering on St. John, Virign Islands. Liberty is a Kripalu Certified Yoga Instructor, with a Certification in Yoga Nidra Training. "After years of concentrating on the physical aspects of yoga, I discovered my own breath and breathing, which has helped me to relax and explore my inner self. The guided meditaion practise of Yoga Nidra has drawn me further on this path of self discovery. The calm and peace developed within myself encourages me to share these skills with others. My intention is to share the joys I have found in life and living with others, and to pass on this lightness, and ease the ability to be oneself." |
